Many companies have quantified their existing scope 1 and 2 carbon impacts and are now looking to quantify their scope 3 supplier impacts. The first stage is to reduce where possible these carbon impacts and inset as many of the remaining net carbon emissions as possible. This means maximizing the carbon storage of any land assets owned by the company or by their suppliers rather than buying offset carbon credits from third party providers.
